HFF Fourth Rock is based on Mars Bounce from page 83 of Brushstroke and Free-Style Alphabets: 100 Complete Fonts by Dan X. Solo and also on page 92 of The Solotype Catalog of 4,147 Display Typefaces.
According to Bill, Mars was originally a Filmotype font from the 1950s.

There is this TV program that refers to Earth as the "third rock from
the sun." If Earth is the third rock... then Mars is the fourth rock.
And that is how the font got its name.
