HFF Ice Bergman is based on Casablanca Light Condensed from page 13 of
"Condensed Alphabets: 100 Complete Fonts" by Dan X. Solo. Casablanca
Light Condensed is also featured on page 164 of "".
Why the name? Ingrid Bergman was the lead female actor in the film,
Casablanca [connection to the original font name.] In the movie Bogart,
the lead male actor, said to Bergman "Here's looking at you, kid."
That's a bit too long for a font name and it can be shortened to
something like 'Bogart eyes Bergman'. It is still long so I settled for
Eyes Bergman but it sounds a bit lewd and that's how eyes became ice.
BTW there is a Casablanca Light Condensed from The Font Company. I was
already through with the characters on Solo's book when someone told me
about it. I stopped further work on the font and finalized what's
already in there. The Font Company has the 2 Casablanca Condensed (Light
and Medium) on page 164 of the Solotype Catalog. Both are currently
entered in the Fontana/Character Solotype spreadsheet as not digitized.
