Claude -
That's a beautiful job. Thank you! I'd like to suggest that there be a
design space as well (see attached image). I put it into the
underscore (005F) and nbspace (00A0) positions.
There seems to be something wrong with the metrics; the attached
fontview image shows that the tops of the letters are being cut off,
and lines of text overlap.

The rounded ends also appear in the Solotype catalog. Implementing
them would be something to be done with opentype, with 52 additional
glyphs - begin.a, begin.b, .... end.y, end.z with the appropriate
opentype features. Some day I may learn how to do that…

Or Claude can do a rounded "cap" to plug those "holes", one each for
beginning (left) and end (right). Just set the sidebearing well into the
"cap".
If the "[" and "]" characters will not be used, I believe these are the best
place to put them. Only one key to press.
The way I see it from the image/scan, the original might be using a cap
rather than a new glyph.

It just gets better all the time! Glad you posted the picture and
added the attribution in the (c) line, too.
Have you decided not to include any of the Æ glyphs that you posted in
a test pdf last June? I recall that you weren't very satisfied with
them, but I think that the basic one (in the upper left) looked quite
good.
